Hillary, the Reagans' non-existent, your 'low-key' advocacy is inadequate

March 12, 2016
Hillary Clinton didn't just make a one-sentence ooops! mistake. She made several grossly mistaken comments about Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan.

She revealed a great deal of ignorance when she spoke the words 'Reagan' and 'HIV/AIDS' without automatically KNOWING that the two did not belong together in any sort of favorable light.

When forced to by hordes with torches, she provided the media with an apology, insulting in its inadequate explanation of why she went on at length volunteering a total fabrication that was 180 degrees away from the historically well-known facts.

Hillary Clinton brought up the Reagans' AIDS/HIV record unprompted during an interview with MSNBC, planning to highlight difference between her 'low-key' support for some important issues that Senator Bernie Sanders is quite focussed on, vocal about, and passionate about.

If elected, his passion for these same issues promises to carry them through any kind of Congress to completion, while a 'low-key' approach might not be enough to finally get some of these issues solved.

Hillary: “It may be hard for your viewers to remember how difficult it was for people to talk about HIV/AIDS back in the 1980s. And because of both President and Mrs. Reagan, in particular Mrs. Reagan, we started a national conversation, when before nobody would talk about it,” the Democratic presidential candidate said before attending Mrs. Reagan’s funeral today.

“And, you know, that too is something that I really appreciate with her very effective low-key advocacy, but it penetrated the public conscience and people began to say, 'Hey, we have to do something about this too,’” Clinton continued.

Hillary, I was there. I've lost about 50 close gay friends to AIDS since it started spreading in the USA.

Hillary, you must STFU about HIV/AIDS and people living with it today until you catch up with the truth.

Stop AIDS/HIV-profiteering to get yourself elected.

Your mention of Nancy Reagan's 'low-key' 'successful' approach to getting Americans to start talking about HIV/AIDS -- besides being a complete fabrication, she did no such thing -- is supposed to contrast your lukewarm, business-like approach to that of Senator Bernie Sanders, or other politicians.

No, Hillary. We don't need a 'low-key' advocate like you say you are, using that as an excuse for your half-measures and no-measures approach to some life-and-death issues.

We never did. You are an uninformed follower, not a leader. You are a self-obsessed, arrogant politician, and it takes a fleet of trucks and a lot of time and effort to drive through your outdated, business-biased, wrong beliefs.

Instead, Bernie spends and will spend that time creating changes.

We needed big-mouthed, in-your-face people like ACT-UP members getting themselves arrested-while-dying, by chaining themselves to the FDA & CDC & drug manufacturers, fighting for lower drug prices and quicker approval of new medications.

We saved our own asses because everyone else was following the Reagans' lead; unwilling to mention 'AIDS', they were equally unwilling to mention gay, lesbian, intersex, bisexual or transgender American citizens.

The prevailing preference in the United States of America was that we GLIBTs would all catch whatever it was and die. Our grief and suffering were their bonuses.

The majority of GLIBTs in the USA were opposed to the methodology and urgency of those very active and vocal AIDS/HIV activists. Their asses got saved just the same, as we saved our own.

To: Robert Wild, S.J., President, Marquette University

When I came to Marquette 40 years ago I was told Marquette supported academic freedom. I believed that and acted on that assurance and was tenured and promoted to the highest rank. That is the Marquette I know. That is the Marquette I respect, and that is the Marquette I have just seen demeaned and betrayed.

The dec...
